2020
Well this has been quite the start to a new decade. Global pandemic, racial unrest, fights for social justice, quarantine, isolation, unemployment, schools and Broadway shut down (among other things). Presidential election. I've done all I can to breathe, go minute by minute, and support my family in all the ways as much as possible and try not to completely forget myself in the process.
WE ARE IN THIS TOGETHER.
I have managed to book a couple of commercials during this time of social distancing which has been a light for my soul as well as income. And I have gotten to learn the art of distance learning for a Kindergartner with extra needs (and a 2 year old). Who'da thunk?
During this time, I have also gotten together with a few of my Broadway clients to create PASSdoor, an online platform that offers small interactive virtual dance classes all taught by Broadway artists. We are thrilled to be able to offer some phenomenal artists work while Broadway is shut down, and even more so to get to connect children and adults with top notch dance instruction right from their own homes . Our goal is to spread our passion for dance to every corner of the world, and to bring influences from all over the globe back to our New York City stages. Please check out at www.pass-door.com
2019
Nili continued her run in Chicago on Broadway through August 04, 2019.
In the fall, she shot an episode of The Blacklist, working opposite Jefferson Mays. She also filmed a lead role in the independent pilot "User Zero", written and directed by Ria Tobaccowala, which addresses mental illness and motherhood. In October, Nili was lucky to shoot again with brilliant photographer Adam Weiss (this time alongside her husband and children) .
2018
2018 definitely started off on a high note. January brought the arrival of Nili's second child, a baby boy!
In July, Nili was proud to come out of maternity leave to choreograph the 2018 Rising Stars Concert at Town Hall. What a joy to work in that beautiful theatre and witness some of the city's newest talent. Congratulations to all involved. The future of Broadway is bright! A couple weeks later, at 6 months postpartum, Nili rejoined the Broadway cast of Chicago, revising her role as Hunyak, the Hungarian "Not Guilty" inmate.
2017
In 2017, Nili was seen in the powerful new Off Broadway play Church & State by Jason Odell Williams at New World Stages. She also appeared in NBC's "Shades of Blue" season 2, begging Jennifer Lopez to save her life. This marks the 8th time in her career Nili has been murdered/killed/threatened-with-weapon on stage or screen. (Happily, she has balanced that out with approximately a dozen end-of-show weddings.)
During the run of Church & State, Nili became pregnant with her second child and spent the remainder of 2017 creating a human inside of her body!
2016
Nili began 2016 with a January appearance on Lifetime's "I Love You But I Lied" season 2. She played Shelly, a New York Times art critic, in episode 2 entitled, "Torn". In February, Nili (well her gams mostly) appeared in Laurie Simmons' spread in New York Magazine's Feb 08, 2016 issue. Check out this behind the scenes sneak peek and the corresponding online video segment HERE. Other 2016 commercial/print jobs include Google, Pharmaceuticals, TD Bank, and Kohls. Television appearances include performances on The Tony Awards (featured in Chicago's 20th anniversary segment) and The Late Show.
2015
In June, Nili took her first steps out of maternity leave with her first baby to do an industry reading of the new musical, Rocketboys. This lovely piece is based on NASA engineer Homer Hickam's memoir that inspired the film, "October Sky". Nili plays Miss Riley, Homer's high school science teacher who encouraged him to follow his dreams to the sky... and beyond.
She also shot an episode of season 2 of "I Love You, But I Lied", airing in early 2016.
2014
Nili proudly spent the majority of 2014 making a tiny (adorable) human with only her body. She and her husband, Erik, welcomed their first baby in September. Best reason ever to take a forced hiatus!
While very pregnant, she was happy to reprise her role of Audrey Odessa in Balladeers Play to the Moon at Joe's Pub. (Note the strategic placement of a scarf over her middle section in the linked photo!)
